Dear Friends,
April? Already?
The year is moving. Fast. The days feel warmer now, and maybe it’s just me—but this past month, I’ve been thinking a lot about energy. Where it comes from. Where it goes. How to hold onto it without burning out.
🌱 The Good Futures Fund — Give Students a Chance to Learn
This spring, we’re proud to introduce the Good Futures Fund, a need-based financial aid initiative dedicated to students who dream of joining our UWC short courses but can't afford the tuition.
At Education for Good, we believe learning should be transformative, empowering, and deeply personal—but never conditional on someone’s financial situation.
Your donation opens doors. It helps a student ask bold questions, grow with others, and build a future rooted in purpose.

Every contribution—no matter the amount—brings us closer to a world where education is a right, not a luxury.
💬 Doing Good Without Burning Out
Last month, we hosted a Doing Good alumni session in partnership with the Good Project at Harvard Graduate School of Education. Together, we asked the question: How do we keep doing good without losing ourselves in the process?
It was a heartfelt, honest conversation—one that reminded us that sustainable change requires sustainable people. That self-care isn’t a retreat from the work, but part of it. That “doing good” only matters if we’re not left empty.
It was also a joy to reconnect with our Doing Good 2024 alumni and facilitators—what a special group.
🚪 Applications Are Open for Summer Short Courses!
Our summer short courses are still accepting applications! The priority deadline is April 6, but we’ll continue reviewing applications on a rolling basis.
If you know a young person ready to explore purpose, leadership, and sustainability, send them our way:
🌏 Diaspora Reflections: OV x K-Bridge Panel
Last Friday, I had the honor of joining the Overseas Vietnamese x K-Bridge mixer event to share about navigating life in Vietnam as a Korean-American.
We talked about hyphenated identities, cultural in-betweenness, and what it means to build belonging in a world that often asks us to choose.
Grateful to OV and K-Bridge for creating a space filled with honesty, laughter, and connection.
👋 Meet Anna Nguyen, Our New Assistant Director of Development
We’re thrilled to welcome Anna Nguyen (Ngọc Anh) to the Education for Good team!
👋 Meet Anna Nguyen, Our New Assistant Director of Development
Born and raised in Lạng Sơn, Anna (Ngọc Anh) has long believed that education is a powerful tool for transformation, not just for individuals, but for entire communities and cultures. At the age of 14, she embarked on her own educational experiment, "sneaking ảound her parents' back" to study in the UK. That bold step marked the beginning of a journey across three continents, through vastly different educational systems, all driven by her determination to understand what it truly means to be educated.
Anna studied at Wesleyan University as a Freeman Scholar and later earned a Master’s in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University as a Schwarzman Scholar. Her path has included research at Harvard, student leadership through the pandemic, and mentoring future scholars in Vietnam. Her research on institutional history has been both rigorous and deeply reflective—an exploration of institutions like Wesleyan or the Schwarzman Scholars programme as spaces for personal discovery, civic responsibility, and global connection.
Now back home, she hopes to channel her global insights and personal story to support the next generation of changemakers by bringing the kind of education that UWC offers -- an education that values the unquantifiable: the courage to ask questions, the curiosity to seek meaning, and the humility to grow. She sees education not just as a ladder, but as a journey, one that can build empathy across borders and create leaders rooted in values, not just credentials. At UWC Vietnam, she is thrilled to continue that journey!
We’re thrilled to welcome Anna to the team.
